Annual Skin Cancer Screening At No Cost To You

The Laura and Isaac Perlmutter Cancer Center at NYU Langone, in collaboration with the American Academy of Dermatology, is pleased to offer an annual skin cancer screening at no cost to you. This free screening is open to the public and occurs each May at one of our New York City locations.

All are welcome, especially those who have a changing mole, a previous history of melanoma, are over 50 (especially men), and do not have a regular dermatologist. These individuals may be at particularly high risk for melanoma, the most serious form of skin cancer.

For more information, please visit the community events calendar or email CancerEvents@nyumc.org.  This skin cancer screening is co-sponsored by The Ronald O. Perelman Department of Dermatology.

2013 Skin Cancer Screening Results

  • Of the 186 patients seen, 36 were found to have a finding of suspicion of basal cell carcinoma, 6 with suspicion of squamous cell carcinoma, and 2 with suspicion of melanoma.
  • Results of the screenings were given to patients at the time of the screening exam. Patients were encouraged to share their results and make a follow-up appointment with their doctor. They took the findings with them upon leaving the screening, and were encouraged to bring the results with them to follow-up appointments.
