Breast Cancer Rehabilitation Services
Many women benefit from physical therapy during and after breast cancer treatment. In collaboration with NYU's renowned Rusk Institute of Rehabilitation Medicine, the NYU Cancer Institute offers offer a full range of rehabilitation services, including exercise programs to improve and regain flexibility, strength, and aerobic conditioning.
The Rusk Institute offers a specialized lymphedema prevention and treatment program. Within this program, physical therapists and nurses conducting lymphedema research collaborate with physical therapists who specialize in rehabilitation after breast cancer surgery for lymphedema.
