New Approaches to the Treatment of Dermal Neurofibromas in NF1

Description
Dermal neurofibromas are the most common lesions to develop in neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1). Typically, dermal neurofibromas first develop in adolescence, but can appear at any time in life. Affected individuals may develop a few or, in some cases, many of these lesions. Surgical removal is the only treatment currently available. This program will explore the types of surgical procedures performed, and will present new treatment options in development.
