Certified by the American Board of Genetic Counseling (ABCG), the Supportive Services Team's genetic counselor:
- works with patients to provide extensive genetic screenings and counseling about the impact of genetics on their treatment and their lives
- provides support to oncologists working with high risk patients on hereditary cancers
NYUCI's genetic counselor is part of the High Risk Women's Program [1] and the 100 Women In Hedge Funds National Ovarian Cancer Early Detection Program. The genetic counselor's activities are overseen by a geneticist from NYU's Human Genetics Program.
