Integrative Health Programs at NYU Cancer Institute
The health consultation is a structured way to look at health and wellness through the lens of Western and Chinese medicine. During this 45-minute session, we will develop a plan of action based on your health needs and interests. The plan is designed to help you answer the question, “What else can I do for myself?”
Acupuncture has been suggested for patients experiencing chemo- related hot flashes, pain management, radiation-related dry mouth and fatigue. Disposable, stainless steel needles that are slightly thicker than a human hair are inserted into the skin at strategic points to cause a change in the physical functions of the body.
Reiki is a light touch, hands-on treatment that encourages the body to achieve mental, emotional, physical and spiritual balance.
Massage therapy is a powerful addition to conventional therapies, and particularly useful for stress reduction and improved circulation.
